Day 5 - May 9th - Scotland

Today was the first day of our trip to the highlands. We had a fun time getting to know the country from outside of the city. There is so much to see and never enough time to see it all.

First stop, Stirling Castle.

Jared thought these vans were cute. They are small so they can fit through the castle entrance. They didn't think about cars and trucks when they were building.

On our thrones.

This is the William Wallace (aka Braveheart) monument.

Next was Blair Castle. This castle was never a royal residence. It is a home of one of the Dukes. It has been opened to the public, but you can't take pictures inside. They house was kept the same for hundreds of years. It was beautiful inside.

Outside of Blair Castle

Scotland's stonehedge, only not well known. They are forts of some kind. There were human remains from thousands of years ago found inside some of them. The entrances line up with winter solstice. This is why you hire a local tour guide, so you can see the cool stuff that no one knows about.

We stayed the night in Inverness. This is the river that runs through town.

Just like every other day, we had a blast!
