This was our last full day in Scotland. We traveled down from Inverness to Edinburgh. The countryside was stunning. It was so nice to be able to see more than just the big city. We had an incredible tour guide who was great company. He was even willing to put up with some of our odd requests.
 |
| First we went to Lock Ness. The castle on Lock Ness is Urquhart castle. It was so beautiful! Jared couldn't get over that there weren't any water skiers on the lake. He thought it was a shame that such great water was being wasted. He said he had skied Deer Creek in the spring and it can't be any colder than that. |

| Urquhart castle on Lock Ness. Lock Ness is about the width of our reservoirs up north like Deer Creek, but really long and over 800 feet deep in some places. It is on a fault. So there is a chance something could be living deep down and we just don't have proof ;), but no, I didn't see Nessie. |

| This is one of my favorite pictures from the trip. We got there at just the right time, there weren't very many people yet, so I got a picture without anyone else in it. |
 |
| As we were driving we drove past the legendary highland cows. We weren't able to get a good picture while driving so we convinced our guide to turn around and go back so we could take some pictures of the cows. He thought we were crazy for wanting to take pictures of cows. They are apparently very good eats as well, more tender than many other. |
 |
| These next few pictures are from the car. I was able to take pictures of the beautiful countryside while we were driving. |
 |
| The next stop was Doune Castle. Some of you might recognize it. This is where Monte Python and the Holy Grail was filmed. They had an audio tour you could take and it showed you around the castle and also had audio clips from the movie. It was a lot of fun! |

| The Scots are very small people. I definitely didn't get my build from this side of the family. Jared and I both struggled with the small stairs, especially since we had to pass many people in the stairways. |

| This is our tour guide, Steven, dropping us off at home. He was a lot of fun and was very nice. |
This was a very fun day! We enjoyed all of it. Jared slept through the car rides and didn't get to see much of the countryside, but I wasn't about to sleep.
